Volunteer Opportunities

Abbott House CAC has several opportunities for volunteers. Listed below are some volunteer opportunities that allow for a wide range of time commitment, abilities, and level of involvement. Our Volunteer Coordinator can help you decide which opportunity is just right for you!

Child Advocate

Become trained to work directly with children and family members, helping to create a relaxed environment at Abbott House Child Advocacy Center by playing games and talking. Typically this position is needed during weekdays. This is an excellent option for church groups, sororities, etc. to set up on a rotating schedule!

Administrative

Assist staff with answering phones, copying, and stuffing envelopes.

Building and Grounds

Maintain flower beds and help with seasonal needs, such as summer mowing (equipment provided) or raking leaves. Also, assist with interior repairs, deep cleaning and miscellaneous work. This is a great volunteer option for large groups!

Community Outreach

Assist with public speaking engagements promoting community awareness and education; participate in agency booth at conferences and public events.

** Background checks and training are required for all volunteers who work inside the building when children might be present.
