Misty Baldwin - Forensic Interviewer
Misty Baldwin began her work as a forensic interviewer in February 2015. She came to the Abbott House from the Child Protective Services Division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Misty received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Work from Abilene Christian University and was awarded an ASWB Social Work License for the state of Texas. Misty has previous work experience as a Medical Social Worker, Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist and Resource Family Specialist. Misty has a passion for preventing child maltreatment and advocating for child victims. While in Child Protective Services, Misty was selected to be a lead Child Welfare Specialist and was given the responsibility of completing investigations in complex child abuse and neglect cases. Misty also received certification to serve as a Child Welfare Mentor. Before coming to the Abbott House, Misty completed over 2000 child interviews and over 3000 adult interviews in regards to child maltreatment. Misty has completed 500 + hours of training specific to the field of child abuse and neglect. Misty resides in Oklahoma City with her husband and three children.
Kathe Cantrell - Director of Operations
Kathe Cantrell began her tenure at Abbott House in August 2003 as office manager and worked in program support before entering her current position. Kathe holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Missouri. Her previous work experience includes seven years with the United Way of Norman. Kathe has been an active volunteer with the Cleveland County Christmas Store, Norman North Soccer Association, Norman North Band Association, and Boy Scouts. She is a past member of the Citizens’ Police Academy. Kathe lives in Norman and has two sons, Brian and Michael.
Lisa Dunson, RN - Director of Nursing Services
Lisa Dunson has been a registered nurse for fourteen years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 1998 and a master’s degree in forensic science from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2004. The majority of Lisa’s nursing career has had a dual focus on public health and family violence. Her public health career has included home visitation, nursing in the county health department setting, and nurse consulting at the state level for Children First and HIV/STD prevention and treatment. She has also provided home visitation for military families through the New Parent Support Program. Lisa’s work in family violence includes work as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) in adult and pediatric populations as well as performing domestic violence exams for shelter residents. Lisa has international certifications as a sexual assault nurse examiner for adults/adolescents and children, SANE-A and SANE-P.
Bethany Holtslander-Petrone, RN - Medical Advocate & Outreach Coordinator
Bethany Holtslander-Petrone is a resident of Norman and joined Abbott House in December 2015 after receiving training in Pediatric Sexual Assault Nursing from Midwest Regional Children’s Advocacy Center. She became a registered Nurse January of 2011. She was trained in Adult Sexual Assault Nursing in December 2012 and works for the Rape Crisis Center in Norman, performing adult sexual assault exams. To relax, she’ll stay in and watch documentaries or get outside to photograph and travel. She is learning to garden and finds importance in organic foods. She is married and has a furry family of 3.
Kristin Langrehr - Director of Community Response & Training
Kristin Langrehr began at Abbott House as Family Advocate and Educational Outreach Coordinator in March 2012. She currently oversees a statewide educational outreach initiative as Director of Community Response and Training. Kristin graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Human Relations (BA) in 2007 and her Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) in 2009 from the University of Oklahoma. She obtained her License as a Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) in 2016 and is currently under supervision to obtain her License as a Certified Social Worker (LCSW) in 2018. Prior to her employment at Abbott House, Kristin completed a leadership education program in neurodevelopmental disabilities (LEND) at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Subsequently, she served families of pediatric patients with complex healthcare needs for three years as a medical social worker at The Children’s Center Rehabilitative Hospital. In addition to her duties at Abbott House, Kristin conducts home studies for prospective adoptive families at an international adoption agency. She and her husband are in the process themselves of adopting two children from the nation of Haiti.
Chilton Purcell - Director of Community Engagement
Christi Williams - Forensic Interviewer
Christi Williams began her work as a forensic interviewer in May of 2016. She came to the Abbott House after serving over six years at the Department of Human Services. The last three years at the Department of Human Services was in Child Protective Services where she served as a lead Child Welfare Specialist and was given the responsibility of completing investigations in complex child abuse and neglect cases. Christi received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pre-Professional Psychology from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and has completed a Master of Science in Behavioral Sciences degree program through Cameron University. Christi has completed 1600+ child interviews and 2400+ adult interviews in regards to child maltreatment. Christi has received specialized training in the field of child maltreatment over the past three years.
